The earliest salons were informal gatherings where B-list philosophers gibbered away so they couldn't hear themselves dying of plague. Get an earful of the modern salon’s soothing hair-dryer purrs and scissor chop-chops instead with today's Groupon, which gets you salon services at Safar Coiffure in South Beach, a European-style sister salon of Boston's renowned Safar Coiffure salon. Choose from two options:

  • $59 for a haircut ($60 value), blow-dry ($40 value), and full one-process color ($100 value) (depending on hair length, extra charges may apply)
  • $35 for $75 worth of salon services

Safar Coiffure's devoted, well-trained stylists work hard to make people feel good about how they look. For head branches in need of pruning and photosynthesis, put your cranium in the snippy hands of a Safar stylist with the cut ($60), blow-dry ($40), and single-process color ($100). Or choose to partake in the multitude of services the salon has to offer, including nail, waxing, and makeup options. The Safar mani-pedi ($50) nurtures neglected nails, a full leg wax ($60) evicts stray hairs from their follicle homes, and a wedding updo ($100+, in salon) prepares high schoolers for glamorous yearbook photos.

Safar's luxuriously designed retreat and superior customer service (Citysearchers give it high marks) make any guest feel welcome. An outdoor terrace and a décor laced with Italian marble and solid walnut will make patrons feel as if they were vacationing in the south of France or on one of the 400 virtually identical pleasure planets featured in Star Trek.

Reviews

Six Citysearchers and three Yelpers give Safar Coiffure an average of five stars. More than 700 Facebookers are fans of the salon:

  • On my fist visit I was pleasantly surprised that they had not missed a beat when it came to making me feel right at home. I was greeted right away by someone who took my coat and offered me a delicious cappuccino… – cfl2010, Citysearch
  • There was some of the best customer service I had ever seen. My favorite part of the salon was that they had an outstanding selection of music and a great cappuccino. It is without a doubt the most fun and stylish salon I have been to in Miami… – John222, Citysearch

Groupon Says

Totally Nailed It

Once your nails are at their nailiest, you might find that the accompanying boost of confidence makes you more effective in your daily life. Consider these examples:

Before manicure: The babysitter bilks you for an extra $20 when you come home six minutes late.
After manicure: That little scrap has no idea who she's dealing with. Offer her a "ride home," but actually drive her out to the abandoned quarry. Reach under the seat of your car, pull out your grandfather's old rusty monkey wrench, and use it as a visual metaphor to teach her about how he built lifelong customer relationships through empathy and service. She'll take your lesson to heart and go on to become valedictorian.

Before manicure: Your business rival, Miles, goes over your head to take credit for your successful sale.
After manicure: Wait in the parking structure until that snake in the grass goes to his car and then follow him to his home with your headlights off. Memorize his address, and, if possible, see if he has a family. That way, someone will be home to receive the friendship bouquet you send him. On the card, write, "I value your skills. Let's team up!" and draw a picture of a skull, to symbolize brainpower.

Before manicure: The local daytime-television clown rings your doorbell on his daily prank patrol. When you answer, he mashes a pie into your face and honks his trademark bicycle horn.
After manicure: Invite the clown into your home, but don't let the cameras follow—what happens between a stranger and a clown behind locked doors is nobody's business.
