Michaelangelo's close proximity to college students, the world's foremost pizza connoisseurs, contributes to its need to sling forth tasty, no-nonsense nosh. Every morning the eatery's pie farmers harvest fresh batches of dough from a dewy field visible only to those who have mastered the art of tossing dough without losing it to the sticky ceiling. Atop each disk of newborn dough, Michelangelo's adds premium wisconsin cheese and fine toppings. The menu's already-designed gourmet pizzas include the Italian feast, which comes loaded with chicken, onions, green peppers, mushrooms, tomatoes, and garlic, as well as the white-sauce-based alfredo pizza, which tops itself with chicken and spinach ($14.49–$18.99). Specialty pizzas are about a buck less than gourmet and include options such as the barbecue chicken and cheeseburger pizza. Customers can also build their own edibles by picking a basic size ($10.49+), a sauce, and toppings ($0.99+) from an ingredient list that affords such a vast number of pizzabilities that it can only be expressed by a sausage-and-mushroom pie baked in the shape of infinity. Diners craving less slicey options can select from a variety of wings, sub sandwiches, calzones, pastas, and salads.
