In a Nutshell

Preeminent African-American dance groups combine forces for shows that feature traditional African, contemporary & hip-hop dancing

The Fine Print

The beauty of the human body in motion is best expressed through dance, just as the beauty of a banana cream pie is best expressed across a sad clown's face. Witness the aesthetic potential of locomotion with today's GrouponLive deal: for $12, you get one ticket to see the Black Dance Festival at the August Wilson Center for African American Culture (a $25 value). Groupon buyers will be seated in the best available section at the time of purchase. Choose from the following performances:

  • Friday, November 4, at 8 p.m.
  • Saturday, November 5, at 8 p.m.
  • Sunday, November 6, at 3 p.m.

The Black Dance Festival unites preeminent African-American dance troupes for mesmerizing performances of rhythmic motion. Friday's show features the hip-hop styling of Philadelphia-based Rennie Harris Puremovement as well as the Dayton Contemporary Dance Company, known for dazzling audiences and angering carpet salesmen with their elaborate rug cutting. On Saturday and Sunday, Deeply Rooted Dance Theater gyrates through a mélange of traditional African dance and classical forms, and the Ailey II troupe brims with youthful energy. The August Wilson Center's resident dance ensemble will join guest groups at all three performances, executing fancy footwork and toe bench presses amid the venue's 486 seats and clean, modernist lines.

The Groupon Guide to: Safeguarding Your Computer

It's a world wild web out there, full of viruses, trojan horses, and cyber mummies. Consult this guide to keeping your computer squeaky clean:

  • A thumbprint on your monitor might be on the inside of the screen—use a screwdriver to get it out.

  • There are only three safe websites: robinwilliams.net, robinwilliams.org, and will.i.am.

  • Keep your computer "clean" by removing all the swears from your Excel documents and deleting any pictures of people kissing.

  • Look out for Trons!

  • Draw a picture of a scarecrow in MS Paint and set it as your background. It won't stop viruses, but it will kill filthy birds near your computer.

  • Crumbs between keys can become sustenance for viruses to breed. Replace your keyboard every three hours.

  • Cell phones are tiny computers that will fit in your dishwasher. You're welcome.
