A trip to the paintball field is the only way to treat an itchy trigger finger, outside of expensive rash creams or firing a water gun carved from a cactus. Scratch the itch for vengeance with today's Groupon to Camp Dakota in Scotts Mills. Choose between the following options:

  • For $75, you get an annual paintball pass, valid December 25, 2011–December 24, 2012 (a $200 value). The annual pass includes:

    • All necessary paintball gear for the day
    • Unlimited air and CO2-tank refills for the day
    • 1,000 paintballs
    • Two vouchers for free entry and air refills in the future

Camp Dakota arms combatants with modern paintball weaponry before they begin faux battles on a forested, obstacle-laden course. Warriors bearing the camp's annual paintball pass can stride through the tented staging area with confidence, geared up with a free safety mask, paintball gun, and trays of priceless glass heirlooms. After loading paintball guns with free or discounted ammo, adventurers slink between trees and piles of tires to reach the lost jungle or vault over a stationed jeep to seek refuge in a foxhole. Trek through a thicket, cross a dangerously exposed bridge, or get tossed into a POW camp armed with only a plastic spoon and a French-language copy of The Bridge over the River Kwai. Those new to acrylic marksmanship can receive basic instruction and discounted admission to the camp's many special events, including Holidayball and the Day of the Zombies.

Hue-splattering neophytes jump into battle after taking part in the camp's paintball-for-beginners course, which includes safety training, an overview of paintball rules, and a primer on modern art. Learn to care for and maintain equipment and exercise good paintball sportsmanship before returning to the camp armed with one of two vouchers for free entry. A representative from the West Coast's largest paintball retailer will be present should students wish to purchase their own equipment or have their safety masks autographed. Camp Dakota welcomes paintballers from 10 a.m. until dark, on weekends year-round, and seven days a week in the summer and on holidays.

Please note that the annual pass expires December 24, 2012. Activating before December 24, 2011 will ensure the best value.

The Groupon Guide to: Staying Dry in the Rain

Since meteorologists attend a rigorous eight-year weather-school program, most of which is spent learning how to drive a Doppler radar, they are able to describe the current weather with 100% accuracy. If your favorite weatherperson is telling you that it's raining, here are some devices you can use to stay dry:

Umbrella: The first umbrella consisted of only a metal skeletal system and, instead of being used to stay dry in the rain, was used to rake large, tabletop zen gardens. The umbrella can only be used to block rain when combined with a canopy made of a waterproof material, such as nylon coated in candle wax or seal skin.

Raincoat: This wearable umbrella was originally constructed with rubber, which, like paper and caskets, is derived from trees. Though the raincoat offers more mobility than an umbrella, it does not allow you to poke people from a safe distance.

Silica Gel Packets: Silica gel packets can be found in the pockets of brand-new leather jackets, slurping up excessive moisture to keep them from feeling too much like skin. These packets will have the same drying effect on your body when swallowed and absorbed into your body's ecosystem. If you can't find silica packets, cover yourself in blood, because it is thicker than water and will repel it.

  • Oregon’s only true outdoor playground, taking the best that the Northwest’s outdoors have to offer and laying it out in a format that is fun
