In a Nutshell

Maids arrive by hybrid vehicle to clean home of any size using only nontoxic, biodegradable products

The Fine Print

Before science was invented, going green used to mean chugging a 2-liter bottle of broccoli juice and then spinning around a baseball bat for 30 seconds. Exercise a healthier expression of blue and yellow's love child with today's Groupon: for $55, you get three hours of eco-friendly housecleaning from Planet Hugger (a $114 value), valid only for residences within a 20-mile radius of the 92109 or 85709 zip codes. Service outside these 20-mile areas is available for an additional charge.

Wielding a line of nontoxic, biodegradable, self-branded products, the maids at Planet Hugger clean homes with a nod of approval from Mother Nature. With experienced eyes and keen senses, the team seeks out and destroys filth wherever it lies, vacuuming soiled carpets, scrubbing down the baseboards, and cleaning interior windows to a bug-splattering transparency. Because the conditions of homes vary greatly, the crew scrubs as many square feet as it can reach in three hours, be it the entirety of a 60-room mansion, the kids’ bedrooms, or corners of a single Rubik's cube sculpture, after arriving punctually in a hybrid vehicle. Planet Hugger recommends booking appointments at least two weeks in advance to ensure availability.

Groupon Says

The Groupon Kidz Quorner: Backyard Treasures

Long summer days can only mean one thing: unattended ice-cream cones will be swarming with fireflies come nightfall. They can also only mean that it's time to dig up your backyard to see what buried treasures you can find. What are the most common discoveries?

  • Older brother's collection of dog-eared motorcycle photographs
  • 26 years of letters to Santa Claus
  • That underground video arcade you thought was just a dream
  • Time capsule filled with shovels from digs past
  • A treasured chest—empty but with lots of sentimental value
  • A magic machine that lets you forget what you learned in school that day
  • Plastic bag full of neighbor's nail clippings
  • Uh-oh, wires!
