A walking tour intimately acquaints citizens with the town around them, giving an upper hand in scavenger hunts and planned bouts of amnesia. Pound treasured pavement with one of two four-hour historical walking tours from Urban Adventures.

Choose one of the following options:

  • $30 for the Walkabout Downtown tour (a $59 value)
  • $30 for the VIVA Coronado Tour (a $59 value)

Urban Adventures' San Diego walking tours acquaint roving ramblers with the scenic local rhythms of Southern California. The Walkabout Downtown tour starts at the Chuck Jones Gallery cartoon sanctuary, leads wanderlusters through the Wild West-tinged Gaslamp Quarter and pasta-populous Little Italy, and then docks harborside to view a who's who of famous ships including the USS Midway, the Star of India, and the subaquatic stock exchange. If time permits, the Walkabout Downtown includes a stop at the top of the Grand Hyatt for spectacular views of the city.

During the VIVA Coronado Tour, wayfarers start at Coronado Ferry Landing for an adventurous afternoon amidst the charming island’s sheet-white beaches, harbor views, and luxurious vintage resorts. While riding their ferry and exploring the isle, guests will be subject to views of the stately Coronado Bridge, learn about the site’s important naval history, and tastefully rubberneck the rush hour golf cart traffic.

The Groupon Guide to: Classic Movies

Classic movies are national treasures. What are some the best of the most black and white of the talkies?

A Man Buys Flowers for his Sweetheart (1923): Featuring the controversial twist ending where the man, in attempting to buy the flowers, turns his pockets inside out and looks hopelessly at the camera.
Casa de Blanca (1948): There is a huge war happening somewhere but this movie is mostly about kissing.
The Bear in the Attic (1952): Master of suspense, Wolfram Hitchfork somehow invokes terror from a bear being in someone’s house.
12 Anger Men (1959): Trouble’s brewing when the men rent a camper for a cross-country road trip.
Downtown Cowboy (1974): A burly cowboy goes to the city but ends up in a place full of disorienting editing and disturbing make-out sessions.
