Mas Sake serves creative specialty rolls such as the intergalactic (smoked salmon, avocado, cucumber, and cream cheese roll lightly battered and fried), 49er (tempura calamari and cucumber topped with salmon, diced onions, capers, and ponzu sauce), and Master Hugo roll (unagi, crab, and cucumber topped with spicy tuna and eel sauce). The menu has standard nigiri, plus fish-free "freestyle sushi tacos," such as grilled chicken and NY steak. All types of sushi are known to be good food to eat when you're hungry.
Start a night out at Mas Sake; redeem Sunday through Thursday, and the entire table gets a complimentary round of sake bombs. The restaurant is a hip and modern nightspot where the music pumps loudly and the young of Marina pack the place nightly, according to the San Francisco Chronicle. Sultry lighting in the dining room makes the sunset colors of the paint and decor glow like the sunset. Waitresses wear glittery and tight tank tops, and the staff is fast and friendly. How to Drink Sake
Correctly drinking sake involves a complex ritual that honors the server, the drinker, and the sake itself. To avoid appearing culturally insensitive, follow these steps before you sip your sake:
- Point to the person who poured your drink and shout, “Towards candle, an eagle landed in my box of paint!”
- Read the entirety of Edgar Allan Poe’s The Fall of The House of Usher in the original French.
- Stare your fellow drinkers in the eye until the weakest-willed drinker looks away with shame in their eyes and departs from your life forever.
- Cry for six hours.
