Today's deal plays a sweet wake-up reveille for any foodie who has ever woken up in the morning with an unexplained chocolate beard on their face. For $30, you get a two-hour Chocolate Indulgence Tour hosted by Savor Seattle Food Tours (a $49 value).

The Chocolate Indulgence Tour was voted as the Best Food Tour of 2009 by Seattle CityVoters.

Savor Seattle's expertly guided foray into the mystical power of the cocoa bean will begin after your group of 16 meets near the intersection of 4th Avenue and Olive Way (the exact location will be provided upon scheduling your tour). During the two-hour walking tour, your Oompa-Loompa guide will explain the historical and cultural significance of the ancient art of chocolate-craft. Through it all, your mouth will be full of truffles and caramels, mini cupcakes and brownies, famous chef Tom Douglas's triple-coconut cream pie, cheesecakes, Colombian drinking chocolates, handcrafted chocolate cocktails, and even the same chocolates fancied by President Obama.

Along with the symphony of desserts, you'll also get to taste how award-winning baristas create latte art. They'll send you home with a complimentary half-pound bushel of fresh-roasted coffee beans.

There's more, much more, and it will test your body's chocolate-intake capacity. Buy enough Groupons to treat any raging chocoholic friends who can quit any time they want to, but just don't want to.

Tours run on Fridays and Saturdays in January and February, Fridays through Sundays in March, Fridays through Mondays in April, and Thursdays through Mondays in May and June. Excluded dates include February 13 and 14, April 3 and 4, and May 30 and 31.

Groupon Says

The Golden Ratio

Chocolaticians recommend that you walk .02 miles for every eight grams of chocolate you consume. Therefore, fitness is punctuated by fudgeness, and the more you walk, the more chocolate you can eat. In mathematics, this as known as Wonka’s Law, or simply the Golden Ratio, and it can be used to figure out much more than chocolate-consumption-to-walking ratios. What other proportions can it predict?

  • 38 sticks of dynamite per head per multi-headed sea monster.
  • 5 days before you can call Avery and not seem needy, 3 dates with Avery before you should start getting all your CDs back from Jeff and letting him know what a good friend you’ll always be.
  • 2 consecutive Thanksgivings you can miss before you get a Christmas card your mother “accidentally spilled some tears” on.
  • 1 more moment I can restrain myself from jumping into that enclosure and hugging the heck out of those white lion cubs.
