A tortilla makes a handy mouse pad, an acceptable patch for stiff denim jeans, and, if you draw a face on it, an ideal companion on fishing trips. But today's Groupon puts the tortilla to the tastiest use of all. For $10, you get $25 worth of food and drinks at Poblanos Mexican Grill & Bar. This Groupon is only valid at Poblanos' Clearwater location. This deal is not valid for use with Poblanos' happy hours or Taco Mondays food special.
Named for the indigenous peppers dwelling in the Mexican state of Puebla, Poblanos uses the freshest ingredients for its selection of south-of-the-border sustenance. Vaqueros exhausted from a day of roping piñatas can unwind with a libation from Poblanos' extensive bar, such as the Margarita Poblano ($9) or a pitcher of the house margarita ($16.99), as they nosh on the restaurant's complimentary chips and salsa. Come entrée time, diners have no lack of flour-tortilla'd options, as Poblanos boasts an array of burritos, tacos, quesadillas, and enchiladas. The grilled-steak Burrito Grande ($9.99) rolls meat, onions, beans, rice, queso dip, lettuce, tomato, and sour cream into a zesty zarape, while the Tacos Suprema ($8.99 for two tacos, $9.99 for three), available in both hard shell and the easier-to-talk-to soft shell, can be stuffed with ground beef, shredded chicken, or refried beans. Diners with eyes and stomachs in comparably large sizes can opt for the chimichangas ($8.99 and up), which account for the third-largest land mass in the state of Florida at any given time.
With a new patio-seating area and an eclectic indoor ambience summoning up the spirit of our neighbors to the south, Poblanos offers a dining experience sure to please shipwrights, reverse-physicists, and plumbing enthusiasts alike.

Hemingway’s Lost Novel
Scholars have recently excavated a copy of Ernest Hemingway’s lost novel Poblano, about a man on a perilous trip through Mexico to collect valuable poblano chilies. Take a look at this teaser material from the first chapter:
William Stoutkick squinted in the Mexican sun. Across the river there was Fantastic Violence. Men were fighting about manly things, there were guns probably.
“I think we should camp here for the day,” he said to Jorge, a guide he had hired from town. “Hand me my whiskey.”
William loved his whiskey the way a man loved a woman or a fine whiskey. A bead of sweat ran down the side of the cool glass like a football player carrying a ball made of steak through a warzone. He sipped it. Its masculine taste made him think of dead cheetahs and not talking about feelings.
“Tomorrow, I think we will find the chilies,” he remarked male-ly.
“Si, Señor,” said Jorge while shooting a sword with a gun, “Si.”
