Unlock your inner sizzle by starting controlled friction fires and then quickly and safely extinguishing the flames with a whirlwind of spicy spins. Generate a ring of fire by way of pole with today's deal: for $40, new customers get a four-week introductory pole-dancing fitness class at A Pole New You, a $100 value. This clean and cozy studio is one of the few places in the Fredrick area that offers instruction of this empowering exercise and is completely free of screaming candles.

Your Groupon is good for the four-week Conceptions I class, where you'll learn the basics of taming the pole. The sessions are on a progressive and cumulative track and take place over four consecutive weeks. Successive classes build on each other, just like improv comedians trying to get to an out-of-reach cookie jar. Check the schedule for current start dates and times.

Each sizzling session is led by a talented instructor born to spin on the metallic pole. During the course of four weeks, you'll learn the basic moves and skills necessary to advance through the ranks of pole-dancing fitness. You'll get comfortable with the pole while learning a few basic moves that might just uncover forgotten muscles. This workout is anything but a tease—it’s hard work, but focused instructors and fellow classmates are standing by to motivate you and swap Pokémon cards. Women of all shapes, ages (must be 18+), and genders are welcome inside the confidence-building studio.

Groupon Says

Stop, Drop, and Pole

A pole-dancing class is really two classes in one, because in addition to building muscle and confidence, mastery of the pole also constitutes roughly half of the Firefighter's Exam. Pass the other half of the test using our "cheat sheet" of helpful fire-safety tips, and enjoy your new career, Professor Fire!

  • Always check if there's a fire on the other side of the door by seeing if the doorknob is hot. You can gauge this by going out for drinks with your friends and checking out the doorknob from across the bar. If people are consistently buying it drinks and you find yourself afraid to talk to it—watch out! That doorknob is hot!
  • If you find yourself on fire, remember to stop, drop and roll. Stop being on fire, drop any youthful, preconceived notions of your being fireproof, and roll the dice by setting yourself on fire again just to be sure.
  • A fireman's best friend is his axe. Maintain this relationship outside the workplace by taking your axe out for seaside picnics and foreign film festivals, telling your axe you wish you could meet someone just like it, and crashing in the same bed, without it necessarily leading to anything.
  • Fire should never be taken orally.
