We absolutely loved the Farm Museum. The diverse, rich farm history displays were engaging and the quilts were gorgeous. My 3 kids enjoyed the play area and are already asking when we get to come back. The attendant was exceptional, turning on the model railway and taking the bunnies out of their pen so the kids could pet them. They even got goodie bags to take home! It was a 10. :)

The museum is small, but has a lot of neat stuff. It seems to have a bit of something for everyone, including kids. Our kids (12 & 15) had a great time exploring all the different exhibits.

It was nice to visit one time. But I don't not think I will go again. Not that it was bad, just we saw it and that's it.

The outside of the "museum" was awesome! The inside... needed a little organization, I think. Don't know if it was because it was bingo night or not, but it seemed like everything was pushed to the side - not displayed very deliberately or appropriately. It lacked flow and continuity. I think the only way to get your money's worth of a membership is to participate in all the events: animal visits, bingo, craft shows, etc. The museum is more of an accumulation of old items - some farm, some military, some old home life. To end on a good note, I do think that it's impressive for a small town to have gathered what has been donated to form a historical view of farming in their hometown.

My Dad is 85 and he had so much fun in there. He loved the old tools and tractors. I don't think I ever heard him talk so much. If you have an old farmer on your hands please take them to see this, they will love it.

We came with small grandchildren, they spent a lot of time in the play area, so then that made it very fun for them after we had spent the adult time in the mususeum . Adults enjoyed both parts of the museum.

From Our Editors

As the sun dips below Coopersville Farm Museum and Event Center’s grain silo, local musicians gather in the high-ceilinged hall against the backdrop of patchwork quilts and antique farm tools. They sing gospel, country, and folk songs that have been passed down for generations. Events such as these are one facet of the museum’s mission to honor and uphold rural traditions. In addition to the monthly jam sessions, the 12,000-square-foot facility hosts quilting circles, line dancing, and other skill-swapping events. Curators spotlight the region’s agrarian past by recruiting antique-farming tools and folk art and freeing hopelessly lost scarecrows from corn mazes. In addition to shining a light on the region’s past, the museum strives to support current culture makers; The hall serves as a gallery space for local artists, and during the youth-led Kids’ Day local teens teach tykes creative skills.
