It is a really fun experience! Not a lot of options for pickier-eaters, but still worth it! Roasting marshmallows around the fire was my favorite part.

We had a great time. Food was mostly great, (and nothing wasn't good) and service was fine. Beautiful location. The only reason I'm not giving this 5 stars is just the general coast and hassle vs the experience. 4 stars = really good, we had a lovely time. 5 stars would be an amazing time.

The tour guide was informative. The rest of the experience was somewhat underwhelming. I think our time and money would have been better spent on a different activity.

Don't do the salmon bake. A hoax at its best. A. Purp would agree.

Groupon deal was exceptional. All you can eat delicious salmon with sides. Great scenery. Go to first seating of the day for less crowds and "first-open freshness."

food is not very good with the exception of the salmon. entertainment was terrible. the shuttles back and forth offered the most entertainment.

I saw this Groupon which happen to be for a Salmon Bake excursion that we were originally looking at on the cruise ship website for while we were in Juneau for the day. The Groupon it is a great deal with free shuttle right from the cruise port. The cruise had this offer for about $60pp and Groupon had a deal for $60 for 2ppl...basically a 2 for 1 deal so of course I chose the Groupon offer. Glad I did too. Not sure if it was really worth $60pp. Nor did I eat $60 worth of food. The food was very good and it is a nice little setting. There is a trail near a stream to take some photos. Was told there is a mother bear and her cub that like to hang out there but we didn't get to see them. I don't know if that is a good or bad thing though! Haha. Overall I would recommend the Salmon Bake and getting the Groupon deal as opposed to purchasing through the cruiseline.

Having had the lower price with the groupon made it better. I would have been very unsatisfied if I would have paid full price. The staff from office to on site were great. The food was mediocre at best. The music was a disappointment because for some reason I thought it would be native. The totem pole carver was not on site that night either.

From Our Editors

Southern hospitality dictates that guests be taken into the home, fed, and kept cozy for the night. But up north, the Alaska Travel Adventures team warmly welcomes visitors by urging them to veer far from their front door. They help guests explore the landscape by designing whitewater-rafting adventures, kayaking tours, nature-trail walks, or panning for gold and sharing bits of history. For lunch, riverside campfires grill fillets of wild salmon and inspire stories from the Klondike gold rush. To complete the day, Alaska Travel Adventures keeps a fleet of newer-model RVs for guests to sleep in so they don't have to set up tents or convince a bear to share its cave.
