One of the best yoga studios I've been to! The owner makes it a point to teach the majority of classes himself, and gets to know each student. If you really want to build on your practice, this is a great place for it. I also really appreciate that this is a quiet yoga studio. Detroit Yoga champions the body-mind connection that's so fundamental in yoga, rather than just offer trendy workout classes.

I felt welcome despite my very limited experience with yoga. The instructor was patient and attentive.

They require you to commit to 2 days weekly for 6 month...before they will schedule your appt for you first class? If you were unable to make this aprox $100 commitment they offered a refund. I'll keep a watchful eye on the mailbox for the check.

I wouldn't go back because of the parking situation - you have to park in a structure that costs you $1.10 per hour of parking

From Our Editors

Yogi Jason Schramm, inspired by the daily struggles of the city he loves as well as yoga's definition as union, named his yoga school in its honor as well as its future. He draws upon more than 15,000 hours invested teaching to show students how to find inner peace and use it to effect positive change in their lives. Schramm uses ancient yoga poses to propel pupils inward, and also lets subtle influences from his martial arts training shine through in some courses. Ashtanga classes summon sweat with mild to increasingly more vigorous poses that build strength, flexibility, and concentration. Vinyasa classes weave at once both movement and stillness combined with deep breathing into a fluid sequence that changes daily.
