I had a tailbone injury when I was young (about 11 or 12 years old), and recently must have tweaked it wrong, because I woke up one morning and it suddenly hurt to do anything - sit, stand, walk, lie down - and it was miserable. It was about the same pain level of when you band your shin on a table, only it was constant and intensified if I tried to sit or lie down (naturally I lost a lot of sleep the first two days).
Once I got there, Chris took the time to not only get to know my lifestyle and my past injuries, but he also explained why this level of pain might be occurring so many years after the initial incident.
The actual adjustment was indeed holistic and gentle- he focused on and looked at far more than just my tailbone area. By the end of the session, when I went to stand up, I was shocked to find that I didn't feel the pain at nearly the level it was at! What was a 4 or 5 pain level before was now more like a 2! Of course the pain ebbs and flows, and will take time to heal, but pain killers are much more effective now, and I can sleep without being woken constantly by pain!
He also gave me pointers on how to change my lifestyle to avoid this problem and future similar problems. I am very satisfied, and will be going back if I ever have back related problems again. This is saying something, since I live in West Asheville and it's a 25 minute drive or so - worth every minute!
