The time frame was very limited to use this because they only do classes on Sat and Sundays, the 3rd weekend of them month, which they did mention in the Ad. They said Wine, Beer or Soda was included which it wasn't. Overall the George was a good instructor. I'd recommend having Qtips next time for mistakes/cleaning up. Also having everyone pull out their cell phones seemed a little silly at the beginning. We came to the class to learn, not Google! I would suggest starting the class with the how tos and then bringing up the google. I was looking for a little more inspiration. For the group on price it was fine, but if I had spent the full value, I would have felt gypped.

The venue changed and the complementary drink was not given to us. But otherwise class was fun and I would do it again. Would love to do more metal work.

Not good instruction on the wine glass painting at all!! Instructor walked away after only a few minutes of instructions and did not check back with us very often, did not really help us, work area was extremely small and crowded and had dirty buckets of paintbrush water. Will not ever go back to the Austin Handmade Art business.

Great painting class and instructor! Everyone seemed to have fun, however, there was much more than group painting classes. In addition, there was jewelery making classes, pottery classes, and several art vendors with items for sale. If you have time, it's a great place to check out!

Wasn't what I expected. It was kind of like playing with playdoh, I didn't learn anything new. I had hoped to have learned pottery on a pottery wheel.

the Groupon was for a class. This was not a class...it was a 'come play with clay'. This would've been ok if we would be taking home a quality finished product, but it was not fired and the follow-up painting session also does not include a firing. I paid $20+ for a hunk of clay. The market itself was nice, however.

From Our Editors

On the third weekend of every month, a crew of more than 45 local artists gathers at the Austin Handmade Arts Market, located in the Saengurrende Halle, to sell decorative and wearable work. The designers and craftspeople specialize in a multitude of handmade mediums, from woven goods and metalwork to prints and sculptures more complex that Michelangelo’s least successful creation, A Hunk of Marble. Three artists even walk students through the process of making jewelry, pottery, or paintings at the indoor market’s two- to three-hour classes. Like its vendors, the market’s guest DJs and four local musical acts rotate every month, enlivening each weekend with music spun and played live.
