From Our Editors
The photographer known as Busby began studying the art form when she was just 15: a teacher lent her his Pentax K 1000. She excelled so much in such a short time that, when this teacher retired at the end of the semester, he gave her the camera. Her new-found passion for photography followed her through college, but she eventually lapsed—until years later, when her father gave her a digital camera. She brought it with her backpacking through Asia, a trip that rekindled her love for the art.
Today, she photographs everything she can, from traditional portraits to rugged landscapes. Busby's skills also landed her work with major brands, including Levi's, American Eagle Outfitters, Dockers, Nordstrom, Microsoft and Intel. On several occasions, she served as a production assistant during their photo shoots. Whether snapping images in sharp black-and-white or rich, full color, she experiments with playful compositions to capture the dents in a battered mailbox or the hidden smiley face in a gnarled tree. When photographing human subjects, though, she focuses on the intimate details, using extreme close-ups to highlight candid expressions and poses so casual, they appear totally natural. Additional services are available for all-occasion photography, including gallery-wrapped canvases.
