Coming from a family of 6 with two athletic older brothers, an athletic younger sister a father who coached them all in little league sports and a mom who was there to cheer everyone on he quickly learned to love all things sport. He played soccer, baseball, basketball, track and football growing up and lettered in soccer, track and football at McCallum H.S. before going on to play and letter in collegiate football at Texas State University in San Marcos. Becoming professionally involved in fitness, personal training, coaching, and leading others was a natural progression born from his extensive background of applied knowledge and expertise in nutrition, athletics, and fitness. HEAD BOOT CAMP COACH AND COACH TRAINER. PERSONAL TRAINER. Ty Reagan strives to become an ultra endurance athlete. He found his passion for endurance exercise back in high school when he was in Boy Scouts and doing activities with his father. He went to college at Texas State University where he earned two bachelor degrees in Music Education and Jazz Performance. Music has always been a passion of Ty’s, but once he finished his education degree he just couldn’t see himself as a music teacher. So while he was trying to decide what he wanted to do he joined the Army National Guard. The Army gave Ty mental toughness and fueled his obsession for exercise. Once out of Army Boot Camp he began to do intensive study in nutrition and personal training regiments, which led him to doing many ultra events: such as the Bandera Ultra 50k trail run, which he came in 9th place in 2009. That’s when the light bulb went off. Combine his teacher skills and his enthusiasm for exercise and that makes a pretty good personal trainer and coach. Now Ty thrives to be the best coach possible and has found a new passion in life which is to help people get to a fitness level that they never thought possible and to help them find the fun in living a healthy high endurance activity life. Pam Moorhead has been a Texan most of her life, but she moved to Austin last year after spending 5 years in Omaha as a mid-westerner. She has a great husband named Jim and 3 incredible teenagers. Pam studied Exercise Science while at Baylor and went on to get her master’s degree in Corporate Health Education from the University of North Texas. Her free time at Baylor was spent as a cheerleader and she loved yelling at the crowd and encouraging the team to do their best. When she gave up her full time fitness career to have kids, she decided to use those same skills to instruct classes and coach boot camps in a personal training capacity. Originally from Nederland, TX, I went to college in Kansas to play soccer and moved to Austin after I graduated with a degree in Literature. From there she made the transition into the fitness industry as a group fitness instructor. During that time Alison was inspired by the people around her to try a triathlon. Since then, she fell in love with the sport and has competed in over 20 triathlons of various distances. Alison is currently a fitness instructor and teaches a variety of formats such as cycle, functional training, Zumba, and strength classes. She is also a triathlon coach, with a focus on helping women compete in their first triathlon. A native Texan from Houston, he made is way towards Austin by way of Texas State University in 2005, where he Majored in Jazz Studies on the Double Bass. While in college, Billy met future Synergy fitness coach Ty Reagan. In addition to performing together in a variety of musical settings, Ty also introduced Billy to the world of running. In 2010 Billy traveled to Ann Arbor, MI where he received a Masters of Music in Improvisation. While in Michigan Billy continued to cultivate his interest in running and fitness. This interest turned into a passion. While in Michigan he ran the Detroit Marathon and became an avid rock climber, in addition to growing leaps and bounds as a musician. Billy joined Synergy Fitness as a coach in October of 2012, and is extremely happy to be using his passion for fitness to hopefully inspire others to make positive changes in their lives. He believes that through exercise, good diet, and self-awareness anyone can realize their potential in all areas of life. In addition to coaching, he is also one of the top jazz bassists in Austin and can be seen performing around town with the Kris Kimura Quartet. He grew up playing soccer and was an elite soccer athlete by the age of 10. In addition to soccer, Joe has experience playing football, competing in track and field, racing BMX, mountain biking, and is an avid trail runner. Although Joe has 10 years of experience in corporate marketing and account management, he feels most fulfilled when helping others achieve their personal goals. BOOT CAMP COACH. PERSONAL TRAINER. Jen recently moved to Austin from Reno, Nevada in 2011. She spent most of her teenage and adult life performing in musical theater, dancing and taking acting and singing lessons. She most recently appeared in the musical Cabaret at Austin City Theater. While theater has always been a passion of hers, it wasn’t until she moved to Austin that she realized her true passion was health and fitness. Like many of us, she has struggled with weight her whole life, and been on every crash diet and exercise program you can think of, yo-yoing back and forth between a healthy and unhealthy weight. She used to be the person who looked for the “quick fix” for weight loss. Then after many failed attempts at maintenance of a healthy lifestyle and lots of discouragement, a lightbulb turned on, and she realized that the only way to be happy and healthy and keep the weight off for good is hard work and good diet. BOOT CAMP COACH. PERSONAL TRAINER. Being active has been part of Matt Bryant’s life since he was a kid, but he then went many years without being in a training program. After he joined a friend and trained for a half-marathon he was back in action. Matt is passionate about fitness, running, and competing. Through it all, he enjoys pushing himself, testing his limits and encouraging those around him to do the same. He was immediately hooked at how fun and fulfilling it was, and he decided to test his limits in a new way as a boot camp instructor himself. His philosophy on fitness includes combining proper nutrition with consistent work outs and is excited to share his knowledge with others. BOOT CAMP COACH. PERSONAL TRAINER. I have always been athletic most my middle school and high school time I played basketball, but I was very skinny. My love of working out started when I was 18. I joined the YMCA and met my first trainer Marcus. I met with him at least three times a week and he kicked my butt every day I saw him. I loved the challenge of pushing myself so much that when I later moved to gold’s gym, I continued push myself coming up with my own routines. Using what Marcus taught me and from internet and asking other gold’s members, I started to see changes in my body. So much so that I actually started modeling, and I did that on and off for about 5 years. Began with fitness modeling and went into a little bit of fashion type modeling, but my heart was always in the gym and working out. When I was done modeling I went back to what I knew and that was working out every day. Eventually I started to train a group of my co-workers. What is Boot Camp Like?
Every day is different. The workouts are designed to be: Challenging regardless of fitness level. Fun to keep you motivated. Different to keep your body guessing at what’s coming next. Change in routine and change in intensity is key when it comes to gaining lean muscle and losing body fat. Your results are guaranteed therefore your workout routine, will never be routine! Synergy Fitness Boot Camp is about having FUN. We will never yell or scream at you; we will do our best to bring positive energy, enthusiasm and support.
What can I expect?
You can expect to be encouraged, motivated and challenged to reach your fitness and weight loss goals. Before every 4 week session, we do ask that you fill out a provided goal sheet to let us know what your major weight loss/fitness goal(s) are for that session. If you don’t know what your goals are or should be, we can help you with that too. From there, we will work with you on an individual basis to help you achieve the body and fitness that you want through fun workouts and proper nutrition. From cardio, to weights, core, push-ups, sit-ups, plank, and workout games (yes games!) you are guaranteed to get fit, get lean, and have fun!
Do I need to bring anything?
Other than a positive attitude and an expectation to have fun we recommend 5 to 8 pound dumbbells for women and 10 to 15 pound dumbbells for men. Other than that, an exercise mat, decent athletic shoes and at least 32 ounces of water are all you will need. If you don’t have these items we recommend that you invest in them at some point, but for now, no problem, just bring yourself!
Can I try a class before I decide to join?
It’s important to feel comfortable with your boot camp. Many of our longtime campers are those who started out just like yourself and wanted to give boot camp a “try out” before deciding to join. Please use our 10 Day for $19 trial link here. If you like camp and decide to join after the trial, you’ll be able to take advantage of a special low rate monthly of just $89. I’m not a runner. Can I still participate?
Don’t worry, you’re not alone! Boot Camp is not designed to be running intensive. Please let us know about your situation on your registration form or by telling your instructor via email or in person while at camp. We understand that everyone is unique and will work to provide you with alternatives (like power walking) to keep your progress going. You will never be put in a situation where you feel left out or left behind. After all, we’ve seen it happen before… maybe eventually you can become a runner!
What if my schedule is crazy, can I only attend a few days per week?
We understand! For this reason, we offer multiple times and multiple convenient locations throughout Austin, Round Rock and Cedar Park (more coming soon!). While everyone’s schedule is different, we believe that it is important to make the time to take care of yourself! Whether that means going to bed a little early to take our 5:30a class, or bringing the kiddo(s) to our NW 8:30a class with child care, or making time for one of our after noon or evening classes. It’s important to take care of YOU so that you can take care of those who depend on you. If your schedule one month is too demanding, you are able to purchase classes on an individual basis for only $15 per class.
Are Saturday classes REALLY free?
Yes, Saturday classes are REALLY free! Just register once and that’s all you have to do to attend the whole year, and please bring a friend or two. Of course, we hope that you will like our Saturday classes so much that you decide to join us on a full time basis! Otherwise, we are happy to serve you and see you every Saturday for a great FREE weekend workout!
I have a knee, shoulder, back, elbow, wrist, ankle problem(s). Can I still participate?
Yes! As long as the problem is not a recent or unhealed injury that would reasonably prevent you from working out. Just let us know what the issue is, what your limitations are and we will modify any exercises necessary to safely keep your progress going!
What is your refund policy?
There are no refunds. We have made a commitment to help you achieve your fitness goals and we guarantee your results. We expect the same level of excuse free commitment from you as well. If I’m signed up for one location and time, can I attend other times and locations too?
Yes. Please attend as many classes as often as you would like during your 4 week boot camp session. In fact you are encouraged to attend twice a day or more if you can handle it! Trying different times and locations is a great opportunity to meet new friends and have more fun. Not to mention that better attendance equals better results!
I’m really not in very good shape. Is boot camp right for me?
Almost all of our exercises, workouts and boot camp games are done for timed intervals. So if you are just beginning, you are able to push yourself to your ability within a certain timed interval (i.e. 30 seconds of push ups). If you need us to modify an exercise for you, then just let us know (i.e. doing push ups from your knees rather than on your toes). Doing exercises for time rather than repetitions keeps the group together, allows everyone to work to their ability while making progress, and provides motivation, support and encouragement for all.
What if it’s raining/really hot/really cold and we miss class?
Camp will not be canceled because of rain, cold or heat. Most locations will have a covered area available if raining. If hot or cold, please dress appropriately (light, comfortable clothes for hot, and layers for cold) and please always be properly hydrated prior to each workout.

I started with Boot Camp to get off a weight loss plateau; I’d lost ~70lbs and was getting frustrated. Although I hadn’t done a sit up or a push up in about 20 years, Tim made the fitness journey fun, even though I was the older, slowest camper in the bunch. I finally got the scale to move in the first month, but was more impressive to me was the inches I lost in my hips and waist – although I hadn’t lost a huge amount, people noticed the improvement. The personal training from Tim gave me the confidence to look into other ways to maintain and continue my weight loss and improve my fitness. I run/walk with the Galloway running group, and I just finished the San Antonio Marathon, something I would never have contemplated even attempting before attending boot camp with Synergy Fitness. I absolutely love Synergy Fitness Boot camp! I love so much about it, where do I begin? The first thing would be that they have onsite child care for my little one. I mean how great is it that I can bring my 2 year old with me while I work out and she can run around the park and play! I also love the group of people that I work out with. It’s really fun to see them every day and I think a big part of it is Tim, our personal trainer. He makes the class fun while kicking our butt. He is very motivating without being harsh. Which is important, b/c I have a long way to go before I meet my fitness goals and need all the motivation I can get. Last but not least….it’s working!! I’ve taken 1 boot camp session and completed 7 days of a 30 day fat burning cleanse (recommended by Tim) and have dropped 7.5 pounds so far. Can’t wait to see what happens over the next few months!”
