More than three million people survive on $2 a day or less, but Partnerships In Action is hoping to change that. In an effort to raise awareness about development issues and poverty abroad, this organization engineers projects, events, and gatherings around the world, including annual golf tournaments. Established in 2007, these tournaments unfold in major cities such as Austin, Seattle, Chicago, and Los Angeles.
On September 8, this year's Austin-based tournament will take place at the University of Texas Golf Club. There, attendees will have the chance to network with socially responsible corporations while driving and putting to help end global poverty. In addition, onsite contests and activities infuse the afternoon with extra excitement. After the last shot is sunk and the course is folded up and thrown in the wash, the event will culminate with a lunch, awards banquet, and auction.
