The art and artifacts were thought provoking. It was especially insightful to discover the history of African Americans in Maryland and the contributions to the state. The exhibits are definitely worth the money. I recommend going alone or with a friend or two max if you can. Planning time to chat afterwards over coffee is a great way to spend the evening.

I had a good time exploring the museum. I learned a great deal about African American life specific to Baltimore and that really interested me being a new resident. Understanding a city's history is crucial for understanding the pulse of present day. My only complaint was that they seemed to be in transition or lacking in more recent content/exhibits. I would definitely go back, as I am sure I did not get to see everything they had to offer. Great deal, great museum!

The museum displays were very fascinating in capturing the Afro American experiences; especially in the Maryland area.
