From Our Editors
Manning light sport aircraft, the instructors and students of Barrie Flying Club take to the skies to experience the magic of flight. First-timers can climb into the cockpit to perform safety checks, ground checks, radio checks, and other necessary steps before getting cleared for take-off. The instructor then taxis the aircraft until it's airborne, but once they're truly soaring, students can practice steering and maneuvering on their own. When it's time to return to earth, the instructors take over again and safely guide the craft to the ground, where students who are interested in pursuing their pilot's license can log their lesson time.
