Now in its 56th season, Hexagon mounts original musical comedy revues ribbing the political and social culture of Washington, D.C. A nonprofit production created by about 200 volunteer members, this year's show promises rib-tickling high jinks in the form of songs and skits that lovingly lambast everyone from politicians to society personalities. Fast-paced and energetic, the program ridicules policies and practices of the past year before proving that it's all in good fun by releasing a feral congressman back into the wild. Members of the organization handle all aspects of the production, from writing the sketches and music, to performing in the cast and orchestra, to handling technical theatrical duties such as lighting and curse-proofing. Hexagon donates all proceeds from its shows to worthy causes, with receipts from this year's program benefitting the Wounded Warrior Project.
