Terrible. Just a pitch to market services/products and force you to spend more money rather than celebrate the culture. Would never go again. $10 for a small hand painting job is also a farce

The food was too small portion for price (starting upwards $6.00) but was really tasty! Probably won't attend next year 2018 as the entry fee is pretty steep without a Groupon -$20.00 yikes- and that does not include a thing! Still can't understand why everything is a' la carte?

Disappointed. The food lines were crazy long and the food was cold and tasteless.

The first day of the Fest was amazing. The second day! Let's just say it was chaotic. I thinks Day 2 is over rated and the Jerk Fest can and should be condensed into one day. Trust me there is enough room for all the vendors. And it'll keep everyone full and happy. "A full drunk is a Happy drunk"

This event was very disappointing. There weren't many vendors of food and they weren't offering any small plates or samples. Only one of the bands even played while we were there, 11am-1pm. I do not see how they can ask for an entry fee.

Some vendors didn't take debit/credit cards, which resulted in us waiting in a long line for food cuz this one vendor took cards. I am surprised they didn't have Square. I believe they lost out on a lot of business not taking cards. More shade would have been nice. We had to eat under the hot sun. Tables should be for people who are eating. There should be another area for just relaxing and taking in the music and sights.

From Our Editors

In Focus: Boston JerkFest

  • What’s jerk?: besides the proper name for a guy taking up two parking spots, it’s a Caribbean cooking technique in which meat (typically chicken or pork) is dry-rubbed or marinated in zesty spices and peppers, and often paired with tropical flavors like mango or pineapple
  • What’s Boston JerkFest?: a two-day family-friendly foodie festival celebrating “jerk” and all things spicy
  • The drinks: unlimited tastings of rum, local craft beers, and other Caribbean-themed cocktails that are likely loaded with more rum
  • The music: Caribbean jam, which calls for reggae, soca, steel drums, and sultry Latin rhythms
  • Don’t miss: the multitude of chef demos, including a seafood throw-down and jerk cook-off, plus Spice Lane, a hotspot for buying hot spices
  • The overall vibe: “Irie,” a Rastafarian word that means “pleasing”
