From Our Editors
Ellen and Mark Comerford started Core de Vie to offer clients creative approaches to fitness that combine strength, flexibility, and cardiovascular exercise. For example, their popular Gyrotonic classes use a Gyrotonic machine, which provides a low-impact workout thanks to a system of pulleys and wheels that would make Archimedes proud. Another specialized piece of equipment, their reformers provide added resistance to muscles during Pilates classes, and other classes take advantage of vibrational plates and a CrossCore pulley system.
Beyond exercises, Core de Vie also helps clients relax with a spa, where massage therapists unravel knotted muscles in candlelit rooms and aestheticians perform facials. After pampering treatments or classes, guests can peruse the boutique’s supply of exercise clothes and skincare products.
