The gallery overlooking the water would be a tremendous place to hang large art - along the lines of the Metropolitan Opera House in NYC. Perhaps you could install two large screens and present a slide show of art in your current collection? it would be great to sit on the benches in the gallery and watch the reflection of the art displayed across the expanse of the water.

The restaurant is awful! The waitress was not at all pleasant, and she acted as if she was put out by having to take our order. The food was really a disappointment as well. The steak sandwich had so much grizzle that my friend had to remove pieces from her sandwich, and my grilled cheese was very skimpy, at best. Also, the parking at $15 seems very expensive, especially as there was hardly anyone in the lot or in the museum the day we went.

My only comment was that I was a little disappointed there weren't prints of some of the artwork in the gift shop! There was one painting my friend really liked and wanted to get for her house and they didn't have any prints!

From Our Editors

It’s not often that a building is as cutting edge as what it houses, but that’s the case with Boston’s Institute of Contemporary Art. Set on Boston Harbor, the 65,000-square-foot cantilevered structure boasts amazing views, perched as it is right at the water’s edge with its enormous glass windows. The museum, founded in 1936, has hosted exhibits by the likes of Andy Warhol and Roy Lichtenstein over the years and, more recently, by artists such as Tara Donovan and Shepard Fairey. Since 2000, the museum has been building a permanent collection which rotates about once a year. Visitors can also enjoy a variety of multimedia art, videos, installations and performing arts programs.
