When Riccardo Dallai arrived in Boston in the 1970s from Florence, he saw an opportunity to show conservative Boston what it was missing in the fashion world. More than three decades after opening up his namesake Riccardi Boutique, his style choices still ring true, as evidenced by his longevity on the most exclusive shopping street in the city. Dallai has introduced Newbury Street to many upscale designers, from John Galliano to Dolce & Gabbana to Prada and Comme des Garcons; He’s known, though, for his cutting edge jeans and sportswear offerings. He’s also known for his excellent customer service, which rings true in the immediate attention any shopper receives upon entering the deep, sleek store, where long runs of shelving and racks hold vast arrays of top-notch wearables, and a second level rings the tall inner space.
