The Chicken & Rice Guys hatched the plan for their own food truck after eating that very meal on the sidewalks of New York’s Meatpacking District. Judging by the length of the line they had waited in, they realized they weren’t the only ones clamoring for Middle Eastern–style grub. So, they brought the casual street cuisine to Boston and now man a buttery-yellow truck equipped with metallic teeth that frame the vehicle’s front end and scare off spies from competing food trucks.
Patrons can choose to bulk up a bed of lettuce and rice with lamb sausage, halal chicken, or both, using an included wedge of pita to sop up leftover puddles of white or hot red sauce. The truck makes scheduled daily stops, mainly orbiting Chinatown Gate, Northeastern University, and Boston University’s east and west campuses.
