Very knowledgeable historian for a tour guide. Said he'd been a Boston historian for 30 yrs. kept the entire tour very interesting! Took us off the trail a bit to where it used to be, to show us some really cool stuff! (Not far off, like one street over). Highly recommend this type of look at Boston!!!

Great tour. Our guide had a better knowledge of e history of Boston than most history books. Very informative, educational and entertaining tour. Highly recommended for out of towners. Locals will also learn a lot about their city that they probably didn't already know.

The tour guide was great - very knowledgeable and funny. We could hear him from wherever we stood and there were quite a few people in the group. He also handled himself very well when approached by a drunk person at the start of the tour. Very worth while and would take the tour again.

From Our Editors

Unless they’re drinking copious amounts of his namesake beer, tour goers along the Freedom Trail won’t likely catch a glimpse of famous revolutionary Sam Adams. But they will hear tales about his struggle for freedom from the British—the kind of struggle that made Boston a hotbed of revolutionary activity in the 1800s. Led by costume-clad tour guides, The Path to Independence tour takes visitors along the red brick path toward famed landmarks such as Boston Common, Old Granary Burying Ground, Old South Meeting House, and Old North Church. At each spot, they’ll learn about the site’s role in colonial Boston, from its founding years in the 1630s to the fight for American independence and the key players in the fight, including Paul Revere, Samuel Adams, and John Hancock.
