At 16, Dr. Douglas Sanford got his first taste of chiropractic medicine when a spinal fracture left him in severe pain that traditional care and physical therapy couldn’t quell. He turned to a chiropractor, and the relief he found there inspired him to pursue a career in the healing profession himself. Today, the doctor typically works to help those with auto injuries, headaches, chronic back pain, sports injuries, and work-related injuries. Of course, Dr. Sanford sees patients from a variety of backgrounds and extols the other health benefits of chiropractic work. One of his main treatment methods is the spinal adjustment, during which he wields pressure to realign vertebrae that might’ve fallen out of place during an overzealous shimmy.
