it was great, but they need a better bar with more options and more food options. the food/bar set up were very poorly done, overall it was an amazing experience.

Wish it was a bigger venue. Beautiful people all around, music was good could've been better. Pricey food, drinks etc.

The live music was great. The selection of food vendors was, well...there's more ch room for growth. Ice cream vendors had delicious goods but were exorbitantly expensive. The size of the venue overall was decent size. It was nice that patrons were allowed to leave and re-enter for the first several hours of the event, otherwise I would have gotten claustrophobic.

It was my first attending this type of event and it was the best multicultural experience. The performances were excellent and everyone attended embraced it all! I would to be at the next one. Please keep me posted. Thank you

It was not what i expected- For that amount of money I expected a larger venue with a number of activities.

I loved the performers and Djs. Especially Princess Nokia and Sango. The music was the best part - it needed more vendors and more of a crowd but that's hard for the price in Brooklyn, where we're used to a similar offering but for free

The only complaints, too much time between performances making even run from 12 p.m to 9pm. Also title somewhat misleading probably should be called Nuevo Latino festival.

From Our Editors

The Afro-Latino Festival NYC celebrates the African roots that run deep in Latin America and the Caribbean—and, by extension, New York City. The Festival which takes at venues in Harlem and Brooklyn enters its 5th year anniversary in 2017 with a Tribute to Women of the Diaspora. The affirming event is a weekend-long tribute to the art, music, and culture created and enjoyed by Afro-Latino people, as well as a positive space for discussing issues that affect the community. Learn more:

Music and Fun

The fest features a curated food experience, a vendors' market, and a dominoes tournament, but the main draw is always a stacked musical lineup. The Festival Weekend features presentations of salsa, Latin jazz, merengue, reggaeton, soca and folk music, as well as headliners like 2x Latin Grammy Winner´s Milly Quezada and Susana Baca, the Queen of Soca, Alison Hinds, Amara La Negra, reggae pioneer Johnny Osbourne and plenty of other international and area artists. The concerts keep Bed-Stuy swaying all weekend long.

Afro-Latin Talks Conference

The action-driven side of the festival brings together scholars, writers, advocates, and cultural figures for panel discussions relevant to the community and the Liberacion Film Festival highlighting diverse stories in film. The 2017 edition covers such topics as museums and representation, climate change and rural/urban land displacement, spirituality and activism, and community economics and entrepreneurship.
