During two-hour walking tours or three-hour bike tours, the guides from Gotham SideWalks aim to give groups valuable insight into the history and the future of several iconic New York neighborhoods. These journeys focus on Brooklyn and Lower Manhattan in particular, encouraging visitors to experience the city's culture by interacting with the art, architecture, and community members as much as possible. All the while, guides describe how the areas were shaped by the contributions of former, current, and time-traveling New Yorkers. On the journey through the Lower East Side, guests learn about how the neighborhood helped shape artistic expression through the neighborhood's gallery exhibits as well as street art displays. The tour of Brooklyn Heights focuses on love and the role that the architecturally rich neighborhood played in the lives of resident authors—including Arthur Miller, W.E.B. Dubois, Marianne Moore, Gypsy Rose Lee, Norman Mailer, and more—throughout the 19th and 20th Centuries.
