The team of seasoned instructors at Greenhouse Holistic helps foster mindful self-awareness and physical well-being in clients, a well-rounded attitude that moved Time Out New York to call the studio one of the best places to meditate in 2010. A teacher of Yang-style tai chi, owner David Greenhouse uses his knowledge of balance control, flexibility, and karate chopping Jenga towers to demonstrate alternative methods to lowering stress levels.
At each of three locations, staff members soothe sore muscles and foster clear thinking during massages, yoga classes, and other healing modalities. The hot-stone massages in particular garnered even more praise from Time Out New York, earning Greenhouse Holistic a spot on the 2012 list of Best Spas. During basic yoga sessions, they demonstrate stable standing poses, balancing postures, and controlled bends, whereas students in the intermediate and advanced courses begin to incorporate arm balances and inversions while moving through sessions at a more vigorous pace.
