I purchased a groupon for two gel manicures and called on a Saturday afternoon to get my nails done, two days before going on vacation. I called twice during business hours and no one answered. So, I decided to walk-in. I arrived at the shop, which was a bit run down. I was asked by a woman doing someone's nails toward the back of the salon what I wanted. She didn't stop what she was doing during this conversation. I told her and she asked me to pick a color. I did and proceeded to wait for 20 minutes. A second tech finished with a client and from her seat, told me to come to her station. I told her at that point I had a groupon for a two manicures. The first women, told me that she wished that she had known that I had a groupon earlier, but since I had waited so long, they'd take me. At point, I let her know that I had called twice earlier in the day, but no one had answered. She said, "oh, that must have been you. The phone wasn't charged, she said, pointing to a cordless phone." At this point, I was a little annoyed, because I thought if she or someone had been professional enough to keep the phone charged or answered the phone at the reception desk when it rang, or had she even just stopped for two minutes, to greet her customers, she would have known that I had a groupon. Anyway, I got my nails done, but waited several minutes to figure out what I should do about the groupon since I had one service left. No one said anything. So, I asked what I needed to do with the groupon. The first tech, who it turns out is the owner, asked me to mark the groupon as redeemed. I felt uncomfortable because nothing about the experience up to that point told me that things would go smoothly during my next visit. So, I asked her if I should write down my name and groupon number for her. She said, I'll remember you. I had little faith in this considering the condition of the store, the dead phone and lack of professionalism, so I told her that I'd just write down my information to make things easier. I was polite because why have ugly unnecessary drama when it's not needed? Anyway, she seemed annoyed and insisted I redeem it, which I did and I left my information for her. After I left the store, I decided to call back to ask her if I had offended her in some way..She answered this time and told me that she just had one of those faces sometimes. Anyway, I got home later in the day and noticed that my gel manicure had begun to chip. This is within two hours of having it done and I hadn't done anything out of the ordinary for this to to be the case. I was so turned off that decided not even go back for the second manicure. she could keep it. Between the condition of the salon, the lack of professionalism, and poor quality manicure, why even waste my time? And it's unfortunate. Because I'm loyal customer. I would have returned beyond the two manicures and recommend the salon to friends if all had gone well. Now, I just recommend that you go elsewhere.
