The Groupon says you get a ménage a trois vodka cocktail but our bartender was confused and had no idea what we were talking about. He was a good sport though and checked with his boss (who also had no idea) and made us awesome Moscow Mules!

Super cool atmosphere and history. I'd love to go back to the bar now that I've had the tour!

Cool building, blonde bartender was great, martinis great, Could do without cigar smoke. Tour guide seemed to know about building, but seemed new or didn't seem comfortable talking and getting story across about some stops on tour. Might consider another tour but with different tour guide or not one at Shakers itself- maybe the city hall one.

Love the ambiance of the bar. Very interesting history of the building.Throw in the ghost stories/experiences and a couple of free drinks and it makes for a very fun night out! Have told others about the good time we had and will definitely be back.

Really enjoyed the tour. Very interesting and historical. The bar was quaint and the staff was very fast and friendly. The absinth drinks were expensive but had to be tried. Thanks for turning me on to a new place to go on the weekends!!

Hangman Tours' knowledgeable guides lead guests on spooky jaunts through Milwaukee's haunted past. These quirky tours offer a series of historically accurate tours to suit anyone's proclivities. The flagship tour takes place inside Shaker's Cigar Bar, which since 1894 has been home to a cemetery, a speakeasy, and a brothel, and seen its share of murders. When the weather warms up in March, Hangman Tours' head outdoors with their Milwauking Dead, Whoring 20's and Cream City Cannibal tours to retrace the steps of crooked politicians, gangsters, hookers and more, that checkered the city's past.

Milwaukee Guide

Reliable Milwaukee guides suggest plenty of varied things to see and do. As one of the major cities of the Midwest, Milwaukee is a destination for festivals, restaurants, and the arts. Lake Michigan creates miles of water-friendly attractions that play counterpoint to the urban feel of the city. Though it’s the brewing and manufacturing capital of the state, more than that defines Milwaukee. Milwaukee things to do range from going to galleries and festivals for the classical arts seeker to rafting and hikes for outdoorsy types.

Milwaukee is graced with limitless attractions, such as lakefront views, historic neighborhoods, and the bluffs of Lake Michigan. From the landscape of Milwaukee, visitors can see 360-degree views of Milwaukee’s skyline, large-scale homes, and tranquil woods. Milwaukee’s park system and nature centers are among the country’s best, with Lake Park’s landscape offering breathtaking views of the state’s glacier-carved terrain. Getting around in the city to shop for some Milwaukee deals is a breeze with the city’s transit system and walkability ranking among the highest in the Midwest. Milwaukee’s public markets, riverboat tours, and nature trails are just a short ride to the city’s accessible arenas and stadiums.

The limitless things to do in Milwaukee include world-class concerts and eateries. Milwaukee’s most famous rock/pop music venue, Summerfest, invites patrons to the best in top-tier and chart-topping music. Every musical genre has an active life in the city, from the Milwaukee Symphony to the touring acts headlining every pop venue. Any one of the ethnic or all-American food festivals draw tourists and locals to the streets, combining music, food, and cultural celebration in the sunny weather of every district. Whether it’s the open air, shopping, or its urban landscape, Milwaukee hooks lifelong residents, new arrivals, and tourists with its endless number of things to do and see.
