The Big Cheese is driven by a passion for french fries topped with cheese curds and gravy. From morning until late at night, their quick-service restaurants in Calgary—recognizable by their bright orange, yellow, and-brown-striped awnings—prepare only eclectic, original takes on the hearty dish. French fries are cut fresh each day from Yukon gold potatoes or sweet potatoes, and a rich variety of gravies mixed in-house. The menu features more than 30 variations on the Canadian comfort food, beginning with the traditional version topped with local cheese curds and, surprisingly, not a single beaver pelt. Other poutines highlight flavors and toppings from around the world, from Scottish curry to Veggie Nacho.
