The fish had just the right amount of batter. There were lots of fries. People were very friendly. A great place.

From Our Editors

Soon after moving to Canada from Manchester, England, Gary and Simone Hodgkinson found themselves craving the fish 'n' chips and mushy peas of their homeland. They took inspiration from Gary's family, who owned restaurants in England for generations, and opened their own place, The British Chippy Okotoks. It was a bit of a career change for the personal trainers, but their background in fitness made them especially conscious about their menu.

That's why they only use six-ounce wild-caught cod and haddock fillets, organic potatoes from a local farmer, and daily made mushy peas free from colorings or preservatives. Even the batter and the coleslaw are housemade.
