Something was funky with their fish and chips (smell/taste was off - was sent back to kitchen)!. Was explained to us that they needed to change their oil.... and?! Bean (veggie) burger was very unappetizing - we were also convinced it had some meat(?) in it. Huge piles of soggy chips on both plates don't really constitute a meal. HIt Wicket was fun concept when this place opened, but was very empty last night (a Sat night) - and can't see a place with these low standards lasting long in that area. Beer selection never changes (as far as I could tell from 6+ months ago). Certainly cheap, but would rather pay a few extra $ for food we thought might make us sick. Kudos to the service staff who at least acknowledged the issue. Also thanks for finding the cricket match we were hoping to watch.

Even though the service is extremely slow, the food was excellent. Dessert was the only disappointment.

Food was way to spicy but besides that wasn't very flavorful. My fiance had stomach problems the next day after eating there.

From Our Editors

"If you build it, they will come." This mantra would have served the owners of Hit Wicket well. Though cricket isn't very common on this side of the pond, they knew that there were devoted fans of the sport out there. So they adorned their tavern with cricket memorabilia—jerseys, bats, gloves—and began airing international matches. Soon their perseverance paid off, as hordes of diners, including reporters from the Boston Globe, started streaming in.

They fuel their patrons with food inspired by countries where cricket is most popular, serving up Trinidad roti wrap, Lankan biscuit pudding, and jamuns with ginger ice cream. Other sporting events include American football games and European soccer matches.
