Berny Martin designed and sewed his first original piece, a pair of jeans, when he was 8 years old. So when he finally achieved his dream of starting his own clothing line, he named it after his grandmother, the woman who had cared for him and nurtured his creativity during childhood. And while Martin had a talent for fashion since a young age, he honed his technical skills at the Fashion Institute of Technology in New York. Now under his own label, Catou, Martin creates designs that are "edgy and elegant, flirty and sophisticated," filling clients' closets with timeless custom apparel.
