Six days before Halloween, the Austin Halloween Half Marathon will set out across Cedar Park in benefit of the Down Syndrome Association of Central Texas. Costumed or not, participants will work their way across a USATF-certified 13.1-mile course. Chip timers will keep track of each runner's time, and everyone who crosses the finish line will receive a custom finisher medal. Those medals won't be the only rewards waiting at the race's end. An after party will celebrate the day's efforts with music, massages, and activities for kids who aren't already exhausted from watching their parents run all morning.
