Racers fleeing from zombies during the G.I. Dash UNDEAD 5K typically run with smiles on their faces instead of looks of horror. That's because the zombies aren't going to hurt them; they're encouraging them to complete the course for charity. Modeled after the G.I. Dash, the UNDEAD 5K puts a horror-movie spin on the classic 5K, forcing racers to worm their way under barbed wire and over walls. Once their mission is complete, racers receive a set of souvenir dog tags as a reminder of their accomplishment. Funds raised from the gruesome event go to benefit the Injured Marine Semper Fi Fund, a charity that provides financial aid and quality of life solutions to marines, sailors, and their families.
