The cakes at Desserts First start simply enough, with a choice of six flavors that range from lemon to red velvet. From there, the bakery's offerings get much more interesting. Bakers pump cake and cupcake interiors with fillings such as chocolate mousse, salted caramel, and even maple bacon. They then design exteriors using buttercream frosting or marshmallow fondant to create designs that range from elegant to kid-friendly characters and scenes. Desserts First can even swap out traditional ingredients for gluten-free alternatives. Outside of cakes and cupcakes, the bakers also dunk apples in warm caramel and bake pies filled with more fruit than a cornucopia warehouse.
