Ashkenaz is an old fashion deli. We just loved it.

Excellent soups (split pea and mushroom barley are my favorites) as well as pastrami and corned beef on rye sandwiches. This place is the real deal as far as a deli goes, much better than the counter at the supermarket.

A little pricey, but overall was good.

Hot sandwiches are microwaved... I would not pay $14 for a microwaved sand which and a pickle spear...

How about an itemized receipt? My sandwich ended up costing a few dollars more than it should have, and I had no idea why. Delicious as it was, I couldn't help wondering if I'd been overcharged or what happened...?

It would seem that their prices have gone up to make up for the savings on the Groupon. Therefore this is no deal, you basically pay what you always used to pay for a sandwich. I felt like I kind of had gotten ripped.

Interior needs serious up-dating, it looks like nobody cares anymore about the decor, the visual presentation to the customer. All they have to do is to go to any Einstein bagel place to see what I mean.

From Our Editors

Mealtime maestros at Ashkenaz Deli draw upon tried-and-true family recipes to whip up an extensive selection of traditional Jewish-style sandwiches, soups, and sides. House-made roast beef and chopped liver dwell within the fluffy confines of challah and rye breads, and Vienna Beef products or lox perch atop 12 varieties of bagels to model for bashful figure-drawing classes. Soups flaunt baseball-size, house-made matzo balls floating in chicken broth, and an arsenal of sides, such as noodle pudding and potato pancakes, benefits from years of family recipes mingling and agreeing to disagree over Grandpa's bellybutton ring.
