We came for brunch the food and drinks were great but the service was lacking. The waiter was barely present and charged one of our party for her meal when it should have been included. She has several food allergies so ordered 2 items ala carte, the total was LESS than any of the groupon meals; after we pointed this out (and noted that she made this change due to food allergies) he removed the more expensive of the two items but still charged for the other...felt like we were "nickle and dimed". If your business doesn't want to give a deal then don't participate in groupon

The service was not very good. I hadn't been there before, but I expected a lot more. We waited for our table at the bar, and it took at least 5 minutes to get attention from the bartender (we were the only ones at the bar). Once we got our table, it was 15 minutes before anyone came to us. The server apologized, but then we had to wait until they went to 7-11 for orange juice to make mimosas. The deal we got included mimosas. The food was very mediocre for the price. I won't likely go back for anything other than happy hour.

Service was a bit on the slow side but that can always be improved upon. It took about 15 minutes for the server just to acknowledge us.

From Our Editors

The aroma of a shepherd’s pie brimming with peas and rosemary-braised lamb. The sounds of Adam Ant and Massive Attack blaring from the jukebox. With so much English-tinted stimuli, Blokes & Birds could easily be confused for a public house situated somewhere across the pond. Executive chef Alex Negrete, however, takes pride in using local Midwestern ingredients to arrive at a contemporary take on classic English and American pub food.

Aside from his sausage platters and Black Angus sliders, Negrete cooks up traditional English breakfasts of fried eggs, bangers, black pudding, bacon, and grilled tomatoes. Guests who arrive later in the night won’t need so much food to help them stay alert, as live musicians score dinner with acoustic sets of original tunes and popular covers. To complement the pub’s cuisine and lively atmosphere, sommelier Justin Leone has created cleverly named cocktails such as the Cheeky Monkey, a banana-flavored blend that guests are encouraged to fling at other diners. The bar also stays stocked with imported and domestic wines, as well as imported and American craft beers available via bottle and tap.
