Sometimes people visit hotels to find refuge from an unfamiliar city. Other times it’s to take in views of the skyline while enjoying cocktails, fine food, and candy desserts. The MileNorth Hotel accommodates travelers and revelers of all stripes—and Ferris & Jack on the main floor feeds them refined American cuisine.
The restaurant’s colors are reminiscent of an antique photo—faded browns and bits of toned-down golds—yet the design is sleek and modern with long, leather booths and glossy hardwood floors. For breakfast, diners dig into comfort food such as eggs benedict, made with sous vide egg, smoked pulled pork, and truffle hollandaise; or the fresh egg whites florentine, with roasted red peppers in a spinach wrap. At dinner, classic Chicago hot dogs meet their match in a Sheboygan bratwurst, and both must contend with the allure of an old-fashioned black and blue burger, a grilled cheese doused in Red Dragon mustard, and a vegetarian tempeh sandwich. Meanwhile, the drinks menu features craft beers, fine wines, and cocktails made with top shelf liquors such as Bulleit Bourbon and Russian Standard vodka.
