Groupon is for 50% off, $3 from $6. BUT the sandwich is only $4.99, so it really is not a 50% off deal. Then the man at the register said I had to pay $0.50 for a "handling charge" so it's only 20% off. I won't walk around the block for 20% off. The falafels were out so I had to wait 10 minutes for them to make fresh ones. That gave me time to observe the man at the cash register lick his fingers to grab and separate the plastic bags to place customer food in. Then he used the same hands to take and change money. Those same hands were to grab pita breads for me, without washing them.

This place was terrible. The customer service was really horrible. Got the pita sandwich, the guy put only the falafels and some cucumbers, hummus and thats it. Upon asking for sauce he said he doesnt have any sauce. Then as I was trying to check out he took my phone and he redeemed my groupon but started telling me oh its already used bit that was because he already clicked it. Then he said I owe him some money for the tax. Putting that aside the food was not even good. The falafel crumbled and the pita fell apart. Don't waste your time and money at this place.

There were several problems with this Groupon. First being the sandwhich was $1 cheeper in the store than it was listed on the Groupon, plus you had to pay tax in cash (.35 annoying) so the deal that brought me to the restaurant really wasn't that great. Once I got there the place was filthy with trash overflowing out of their garbage and the food was really not very good. All things considered this was a terible experience. I love Groupon and I will continue to use it frequently but this "deal" should not be repeated.

Needs decorating updating. Looks dingy, tired and not very clean.

The girl who works the line needs a little more training. Has a little bit of an attitude, and was playing on her phone while my friend and I waited to be checked out.

The food was fine, but I thought the man putting the falafel together was quite skimpy with the ingredients. Subsequently, when he was at the register said I owed $0.75. When I asked why he said it was for their taxes. Although I didn't think this was right since l had already paid online, I handed him my credit card and he swiped it. When I walked out I immediately checked my online transactions and saw be had charged $1. Although it's just a few cents I felt he was ripping me off and probably other groupon customers as well. He surely took advantage of the groupon process.

place was dirty, staff uninterested but worse, the falafel was dry and mealy, the pita was cold. I would not return.

You never get a second chance to make a good first impression. The service was less than friendly. The falafel tasted excessively of sage. It actually reminded me of fried thanksgiving stuffing or hush puupies with sage that you were trying to pass off as falafel. The falafel was burnt, cold and seemed to be days old. The offer also stated a $6 value for $3. Upon arrival at the restaurant, the price of the sandwich was $4.99 and when I requested tzatziki sauce they charged me. Haifa Cafe...I could have had a V-8. Subways falafel sandwich is more appetizing and tasteful.

From Our Editors

Working from a menu that blends the diverse cuisines of the Mediterranean coast, Haifa Café's chefs heap plates high with delicacies created from recipes honed over the years by the owner's family and friends. Grilled kebabs of chicken, kifta, and steak are cooked by lightning atop the Willis Tower's antennae before transferring to smaller skewers. The café's specialty, freshly roasted turkey in white, dark, and mixed cuts, evokes the Thanksgiving spirit year-round. Vegetarian dishes transport cargos of Mediterranean spices, fresh vegetables, and rice, and traditional soups inspire diners to scratch itchy dishware as their spoons scrape the bottoms of bowls.
