The Place is nice and the service was great but the sushi was just okay. It looks like they really tried to make this a nice restaurant and lounge but they need to improve the food. And you need a liquor license. Lounge, with no liquor?

Sushi rolls excellent. Try Tropical Mango and Ocean for starters. Entrees tried were lime salmon (excellent poaching, but small quantity) and Beef Tataki (well-seasoned and prepared, but beef chewy). Nice dessert of chocolate cake and ice cream.

Slow service. I was the only customer in the place. Food was not good. The rolls I ordered were 16$ and were missing half the ingredients listed. Very small as well. I asked for an iced tea and got a plastic bottle of some strange drink. For a place that's byob they should have better non alcoholic drink options.I complained about the rolls and the waitress didn't seem to care. Won't be returning.

I used to love this place and you have a great wait staff. However, on my last vist this week, the quality of sushi has gone downhill and very noticeably. There's no excuse for thin, cheap cuts of non-sushi grade fish. I was served grocery store-like smoked salmon and fake crab; it was obvious. Shame. Then my party tray was skimpy. The cuts of fish were lean, and two pieces were these fried pork-ring kind of things that were awful.

For some reason it was not flavorful. The rolls had too much rice. We are sushi lovers and will give them one more shot but I was very disappointed.

From Our Editors

Though the chefs at Koko Sushi Bar revere the 1,000-year-old art of sushi rolling, they see no reason why the ancient delicacy cannot be enjoyed among modern amenities such as flat-screen TVs, sleek bars, and modern furnishings. Traditional sashimi and maki dutifully populate the menu, and chefs experiment with avocado, chili oil, and cilantro in the Chicago Summer maki—a tribute to the chili-oiled sunbathers that loll about during the area's warm season. The Logan Square establishment feeds weekend revelers before they explore the area's array of craft-beer curators and dive bars.
