we had a great experience. one of the owners was there and greeted our table and offered a free shot. the slider trio and nachos were delicious but the $11 truffle fries tasted like regular fries with no flavor so at $11 they were WAY over priced. drinks were reasonable, not sure we will be back.

Music too loud and food not good. It's more of a place to get alcohol then a restaurant. Gives gastro pubs a bad name. They should just have drink groupons not food ones. I will not be going back

Our burger was burnt on the outside, red on the inside and the nacho chips were super soggy. Would not go back

Turn on the heat and add some good food to the menu! This is not a gastro-pub! Oh, and the cheesesticks are definitely not homemade. :(

Rookies, your food was good. The drink specials were good. However, the lighting was poor, the seating was incredibly uncomfortable (the high tables had that bar that digs into one's thigh, the low table was too low and the booth seat was uncomforable as well). More attention needs to be paid to the acoustics. Even though there were only 6 other people in there, it was too loud to have a conversation. Also, the pork tacos need to come with trimmings or a side. They were good, but 3 tacos for $10 just didn't cut it with no sides. I was there with a buddy of mine and we both agreed that it was a terrible experience all around and we won't be coming back. I can't see why anyone would choose Rookies over anything else in Wrigleyville.

You need to go back and concentrate on your food menu before you try to make a dance club. Aka the food sucked.

From Our Editors

Nestled in the heart of Wrigleyville's nightlife district, Rookies Gastro Pub & Lounge treats guests to a smorgasbord of gastropub cuisine in close proximity to entertainment destinations such as Wrigley Field and the Metro. Like Uncle Pennybags wearing a baseball cap, the eatery’s lounge boasts both approachability and refinement, with LCD screens and walls of sports memorabilia surrounding plates of lobster-sauce poutine, raw zucchini, and shiitake mushroom. Guests clink frosty beers and martinis over their feasts. The restaurant’s eponymous burger comes sandwiched between two grilled cheeses, and cottage pies of mashed potatoes and parmesan cheese release their toasty aromas into the air.
