I had to contact Groupon to hv my session scheduled because no one called back The session was not structured as advertised The whole thing felt thrown together or made up as he went along He had his child there which was ok, but felt that we were babysitting

The class was a lot of fun! It isn't a class where you're given templates to choose from and the instructor helps you make them. You paint whatever you feel like, and the artist can help you along. This may be difficult if your not the most artistic and are looking for more structure. But it's still a fun date night! Be wary of purchasing during Cubs season, as its in wrigleyville and parking may be difficult.

My friend and I had a great time last night. The atmosphere was friendly and relaxed and Topher did a great job walking around making personal connections with all the guests.

The issue I had with it was that there was no blue paint. Had we known that in advance I would have probably tried to paint something other than a picture with water and sky that I needed blue for both. Other than that, it was a fun time with girlfriends

It was a lovely evening. It was a nice chance to relax, have fun with paint, and make something I can enjoy for some time to come. :)

Seriously upset with this business. I could not find any information on the class I signed up for so I never was able to use it. Seriously disappointing.

My mom and I went to the byob painting class and had a great time! You get to be very creative in this class as you are not assigned an object to draw. You are given all the supplies you will need and then you can paint whatever you want! We had a great time!

No instruction, you're pretty much on your own to paint whatever and however you can. Cramped space, no aprons provided, and foam cups for your BYOB that tip over on the floor because there's no room to place them. Bottle & Bottega was a much better experience.

Received very little instruction. Did not even know how to start. This business is more for someone who already knows how to paint.

From Our Editors

Long comfortable with a pencil and pen, School of the Art Institute of Chicago graduate Ian M. Sherwin had to struggle to regain his craft after losing sight in one eye. As he relearned how to draw with diminished depth perception, the vivid colors and bold lines possible in painting suddenly seemed more tempting than ever before. These days, his gallery—tucked away on a quiet Lakeview side street—pops with abstract acrylic swooshes of hopeful pinks and greens covering canvas and wood. Sherwin also hosts "Side by Side" shows where he showcases his work alongside the work of one of his students.

When he's not busy with a brush in hand, Sherwin can often be found merging art and science in programs for kids and families at the Field Museum, where he's a contract artist. He continues his educational mission back in the studio, staying open into the evening to teach art classes in a variety of media, including acrylics and emotions.
