If you want to see Chicago without all the walking, take a relaxing trip on the Wendella sightseeing boat. I just took it about 3 weeks ago and I'm ready again.

A lovely way to view the skyline of Chicago on a cool relaxing waterway excursion. The tour guide was very knowledgeable and made the tour even more interesting. A must do activity for first time visitors to the city.

It was a great trip on the river, an hour and 15 min. The guide was a guy from Chicago who knew everything about the buildings, architects, dates etc. and just did a wonderful job. Don't miss it!

It was very frustrating to redeem this voucher.. I asked to redeem for 1 tour, and was very frustrated because I was told the system wouldn't permit it. Then I tried to redeem it for the Chicago Water Taxi (recently purchased tickets and saw that it appeared on my credit cars statement as "Wendella"). Was also told it was not an option. This becomes a bigger deal as my sister, my 2-yr old niece, my boyfriend and I had all travelled in from different suburbs to treat my niece to a boat ride. To have been told the only options that would accommodate our schedule were simply not available - with unsatisfactory reasons why not - is enough to make me not want to further support Wendella.

From Our Editors

In 1935, Albert Borgstrom, a Swedish immigrant and carpenter by trade, set about constructing a 65-foot wooden yacht. He named the ship The Wendella and charged visitors $0.25 to ride through the city and listen to a guide expound on the sights. This simple vessel ended up being a steppingstone, and 75 years later, guests still ride along, now craning their heads back at the jagged opalescent silhouette of Trump Tower and the beehive curves of Marina City. Beneath the evolving skyline, the fleet has expanded to six vessels, which are now run by Albert's grandson, Michael Borgstrom. Wendella staffs a dedicated, in-house education department to keep the city's history alive and make sure that people continue to believe in water so it doesn’t disappear. On special excursions, the crew stocks the boats with wine for tastings beneath the stars or points the vessel through the verdigris waters of the lake to watch evening fireworks shows.
