For some reason, it just seems easier to run a 5K when you're dressed like a superhero. Not because you suddenly get the powers of super speed or flight, but because it creates a fun and friendly race where fellow runners (also dressed in crazy costumes) encourage one another to push toward the finish line. That's the atmosphere at the Costume Party Run, where participants dress up as everything from comic book characters, to cinema icons, to restaurant mascots.
As this hoard of costumed competitors runs or walks the 5K, they might pause to dance at music stations placed along the course. All of the fun is for a good cause, because proceeds from the Costume Party Run benefit local youth charities.
