We each ordered a simple cheeseburger. The burgers come with fries. The menu says "Add a side salad for only 99 cents". I asked the waitress to confirm that the salad was in addition to the fries and she agreed. When the burgers arrived (cooked to death) 40 minutes after ordering, there were no fries. When confronted, the manager said "No one has ever complained". In my dictionary, substitute and add are two distinctly different words. Skip this dump. It is dirty and intended solely for college students. Oh, by the way, the only beer on tap was PBR despite a menu that lists half a dozen on tap. Disgusting place.

Of the 4 dishes ordered in our visit, only the pork sliders were acceptable in both quality and value. The popcorn shrimp was tiny, awful, and way overpriced. The Parmesan Chicken wrap and Chicken and Cheese items were mediocre in both quantity and quality. The french fries and mac and cheese sides were good.

Food was horrid. Lettuce was wilted in salad. Bacon left off salad. Steak wrap tasted funky. Fries had obviously been left out and were not fresh out of fryer. Service was slow and there was barely anyone there.

The gal that waited on us was exceptional. The restaurant was not that busy so she checked numerous times to make sure we were comfortable and didn't need anything. The only criticism I would have is that it took quite a while to get our order once ordered.

Restaurant part was slow along with the servers and food. They put more detail on other things seems like.

From Our Editors

The eclectic new menu at Friars Tavern eschews culinary borders, boasting dishes from around the globe. Chefs cook up Yuengling-battered British fish and chips with the same skill as their prime rib. Starters such as fried pickles segue into entrees like the pulled pork sandwich. After meals, guests can belly up at the full bar to sample 10 draught beers or hide billiard balls from very hungry friends in the pockets of five regulation-size pool tables.
